M LETTER OF THE WEEK CRAFT – M IS FOR MOOSE

I pulled from book inspiration again for this letter of the week craft. M is for Moose is inspired by the book If You Give a Moose a Muffin by Laura Numeroff. We’re huge fans of all of the If You Give a Mouse a Cookie books so it only made sense to create our own moose to go along with the book!

This crafts pairs well with If You Give a Moose a Muffin and making easy muffins with your kids for a day of activities learning more about the letter M!

LETTER M PRINTABLE & CRAFT MATERIALS

You can either draw a letter M and then cut it out or print a copy of our letter M printable and cut it out. If you want to print it but don’t have brown paper that works in the printer, print it on white paper or cardstock, cut it out, and use it as a tracing template. Tracing is also a good fine motor skills activity for kindergarten students.

Here are the materials you need to make this letter of the week craft:

    • Brown, tan and black card stock or construction paper – RECOMMENDED CARDSTOCK or CONSTRUCTION PAPER

Child's handprints cut out on tan paper

Trace each hand on a tan piece of paper and cut the hands out.

Glue the hands to the back of the letter M. One M should go at each top point on the letter to make them look like antlers on a moose.

Gluing google eyes on letter M shape

Glue two googly eyes on the letter M, near the top of the inside lines.

Cut two small circles (about the size of dimes) and glue them to the bottom of the middle of the letter M to make a nose for the moose.

Black circles make the nose on the Letter M is for Moose craft

Glue the entire M craft to a sheet of black paper (or your favorite color) and you have your own M is for Moose craft!
