Printable Room Cleaning Checklist for Kids

The holidays and approach of the new year seem to bring a flood of new toys into our house while also giving me a feeling of wanting to tackle big projects.

Cleaning the kids’ rooms and clearing out space for their new gifts is always something I’m trying to figure out during this busy time of year.

This year I’ve been working to get them involved and discovered that by putting together a checklist for cleaning your room, I can get them to help more than in the past. It could also be because they’re getting older, but I’m not going to question it! It makes me one happy mom!

There are some basic things on the kids room cleaning checklist that we do every single day to keep things looking put together.

    Kids Bedroom Cleaning Checklist Basics

When it comes to keeping the bedrooms put together on a daily basis, there are a few little chores that I have my kids do. Even younger kids can help with most of these and once your kids are school age, they can do the entire room cleaning checklist themselves!

There are six things that Weston is responsible for when it comes to cleaning his room.

    • Put dirty clothes in the laundry basket.
    • Put toys and books away.
    • Throw away trash.
    • Put away clean clothes and shoes.
    • Tidy the top of the dresser.
    • Make the bed.

If he takes care of this daily kids bedroom cleaning checklist he earns money each week. He’s all about earning money right now so it works really well! It’s simple enough that he can go down the list each day.

Having a visual is a great help for him too!

You can use this kids room cleaning checklist and slip it in a plastic sheet protector or frame it. Give your kids a dry erase marker and they can cross off each item as they do it each day!

You can use it as an incentive to help keep things picked up all week long!

On the weekends, I get into their rooms and do a bit of a deeper cleaning and disinfecting. It’s nothing crazy, I promise!

Between what I’ve got the kids doing and what I do. They have plenty of room for their new gifts and their old favorites. Plus, I feel good about keeping their room in shape as we make it through yet another cold and flu season!

    Cleaning and Disinfecting Without Worry

I take care of the big cleaning chores like vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting. But when I walk into a tidy bedroom to do these things, it makes it so much easier.

I can run the vacuum, dust, and clean with a disinfectant in less than ten minutes most weekends!

When I’m in the kids’ bedrooms, I want to make sure that the products I use are worry-free for both them and the pets. My kids and dogs spend a lot of time in the bedrooms.

PURELL® Multi Surface Disinfectant is a new product that has eased my concerns! I’ve depended on PURELL® Hand Sanitizer for many years in my classrooms when I was teaching. I also have it in my purse now!

The new surface spray from the PURELL® brand is not like anything else we can buy. It kills germs quickly without using any harsh chemicals. I can smell the difference when I use it!

Because there aren’t any harsh chemicals, you can use it around kids, pets, and even on food-prep surfaces without worrying!

As I mentioned before, I can smell the difference when I use the PURELL® Multi Disinfectant Spray.

There are no harsh fumes and no toxic residue. You don’t even need a water rinse if you use it on food preparation areas. It gives me the germ killing power of bleach but there are no harsh chemicals.

It’s perfect for disinfecting and cleaning in areas where my kids spend a lot of time. It also works great on disinfecting toys because it can be used on hard and soft surfaces!
