Abrams Books sent me a copy of Ada Twist and the Perilous Pants (The Questioneers Book #2) to check out and is partnering with me for a giveaway! If you’re looking for a book series for your kids to enjoy, I highly recommend the world of The Questioneers!
If you haven’t heard about The Questioneers, we shared about the first book Rosie Revere, Engineer earlier this year. I love the entire series, but especially the two books featuring the girls who have interests in areas like math and science! It’s a great message for all of our kids to have in their literature!
ADA TWIST AND THE PERILOUS PANTS
If you haven’t read the Questioneers books yet, you need to do it! Ada Twist and the Perilous Pants is the second book in The Questioneers series by Andrea Beaty. It was illustrated by David Roberts and published by Abrams Books. The book is recommended for ages 6-9 and it’s a great book to share together as a family.
There are currently three books in the series including:
They’re all fun books and I love that they include STEM topics with both boys and girls being part of the adventures!

If you haven’t met Ada Twist yet, you should know she is the queen of questions.
Why does hot coffee smell stronger than cold?
What kind of birds live in her backyard?
Why does her brother Arthur get so cranky when she borrows his stuff for experiments?
Those are just a few of Ada’s questions. But her questions come in handy when she needs to help her friend Rosie Revere! Rosie’s Uncle Ned has gotten carried away in his famous helium pants, and Ada needs some answers—fast!
How high can Uncle Ned float?
Will he fly off into outer space?
How can they get him down?
With the help of her fellow Questioneers Iggy Peck and Rosie Revere, her brother Arthur, and some new friends, Ada Twist is ready to save the day!
My almost third grader loves these books and my almost kindergartener loves listening to them! When both kids enjoy the same book, I know it’s a good one!
THE QUESTIONEERS AUTHOR AND ILLUSTRATOR
I love the team that brings The Questioneers to life. Andrea Beaty’s stories are ones that the teacher in me loves. David Roberts does a great job with the illustrations. My kids love the hybrid of chapter book with illustrations.
Andrea Beaty is a children’s book author and an advocate for STEM. Her books have been read around the world! They’ve even been read in space on board the International Space Station! Visit her online at andreabeaty.com.
David Roberts has illustrated many children’s books, including Iggy Peck, Architect; Rosie Revere, Engineer; and Ada Twist, Scientist. He lives in London where, when not drawing, he likes to make hats! How creative is that?
