    We’re huge fans of Kellogg’sยฎ Rice Krispiesยฎ cereal here. It’s just one of our favorites and the whole family seems to enjoy it. I love it with a banana sliced in it while Grambo opts for strawberries. The kids like to eat it dry too! But one thing we all enjoy the same way are Rice Krispies treats!     Homemade Rice Krispies Pumpkin Treats are so easy to make! They are perfect for the fall season including Halloween and Thanksgiving! Plus the kids love to make Rice Krispies treats! With one simple swap, you can also make Apple Rice Krispies Treats using this recipe!

    Rice Krispies Pumpkin Treats

    For some of our treats, we’ll use store-boughtย Rice Krispiesยฎ treats but for this one, we break out the box of cereal and go homemade! Check out the recipe for theย Rice Krispiesยฎ Treats and see how easy it is to make your own batch of homemade treats! Then follow the easy directions to make your own Rice Krispies Pumpkin treats! Plus check out the end for tips on how to use the same idea to make apple shaped treats too!

    Homemade Rice Krispies Pumpkin Treats are so easy to make! They are perfect for the fall season including Halloween and Thanksgiving! Plus the kids love to make Rice Krispies treats! With one simple swap, you can also make Apple Rice Krispies Treats using this recipe!

    What You Need:

    • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
    • Two 10 oz. bags of mini marshmallows
    • 10 cups Rice Krispiesยฎ cereal
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • Wilton orange Color Mist
    • 6ย Tootsie Roll Midgees

    Homemade Rice Krispies Pumpkin Treats are so easy to make! They are perfect for the fall season including Halloween and Thanksgiving! Plus the kids love to make Rice Krispies treats! With one simple swap, you can also make Apple Rice Krispies Treats using this recipe!

    What You Do:

    1. Spray a 9 x 9 pan with non-stick cooking sprayย and set aside.
    2. In a large sauce pan, melt the butter over low heat.
    3. Add the marshmallows, stirring constantly until melted.
    4. Once the marshmallows are melted, remove from heat and stir in the cereal and salt until well-coated.
    5. Using a rubber spatula, transfer the cereal mixture to the prepared pan and press down firmly and evenly.
    6. Allow to cool in the pan completely.
    7. Once cooled, cut the treats into 6 squared then roll into even shaped balls to resemble pumpkins.
    8. Line a baking sheet with wax or parchment paper. Place the pumpkins on the lined baking sheet.
    9. Spray each pumpkin with theย Wilton orange Color Mistย until coated evenly.
    10. While the pumpkins “dry”, use a knife to cut the 6 Tootsie Roll Midgees in half.
    11. Add a piece to each pumpkin by pressing firmly into the top to resemble the stem.

    Ingredients

    Another great option for fall is to make these into apples! You follow the same steps, but use either Wilton Red Color Mist or Green Color Mist (or both!). Spray your round shapes red or green and you’ll have apples instead of pumpkins! Such a perfect sweet treat for fall!
