Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi Press Day
STAR WARS: The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15th but this past weekend, I had a chance to experience the world of the The Last Jedi at the press event in Los Angeles.
To say I’m excited about Star Wars Episode VIII would be a bit of an understatement and I know I’m not alone!
The day started with a press conference featuring the cast and director of The Last Jedi, then we sat down for interviews with some of the actors and actresses.
Upcoming Interviews with The Last Jedi Cast
I’ll be sharing more about our interviews with:
- Gwendoline Christie (“Captain Phasma”)
- Kelly Marie Tran (“Rose Tico”)
- Laura Dern (“Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo”)
- Domhnall Gleeson (“General Hux”)
It was amazing to learn more about their experiences as part of the cast of The Last Jedi.
The rest of the day was filled with droids, t-shirt making, and some amazing products all related to the new film!
Trust me when I say there is some amazing new merchandise for Star Wars Episode VIII!

Meeting BB-8 & BB-9E
One of my favorite parts of the day was hanging out with the droids!
You’ll recognize BB-8 from Star Wars: The Force Awakens and I’ll tell you that he’s a good guy in person too.
You might not recognize BB-9E. He’s the newest droid on the block and he’s all about the dark side.
He had a little bit of attitude when I met him. All I did was offer him a kiss and he wanted nothing to do with it.
We’ll have to wait and see what role he plays in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Star Wars Episode VII Shirt Design & Costumes
Check out the other ways that Star Wars: The Last Jedi came to life this weekend!
We designed our own t-shirts. I had to choose the X-Wing starfighter.
When I was chatting with one of the guys helping make the shirts, he convinced me that the X-Wing starfighter was one of the most important vehicles in the galaxy. He was pretty passionate about it and sold me on it with his reasoning. Plus, I wanted something a little different.
Looks amazing on the black shirt, doesn’t it?
Star Wars costumes are always amazing. They’re so detailed and add such dimension to the characters that we come to love. Being up close and personal with costumes for Leia, Luke Skywalker, Kylo Ren, and Rey was breath-taking.
Seeing all of the details in person gave me an even greater appreciation for all that the costumes add to the films!
I also had the chance to learn more about the Star Wars™: Jedi Challenges augmented reality experience. Star Wars™: Jedi Challenges is a smartphone-powered experience compatible with select Android and iOS devices.
You really only need the kit and your phone to enter the world of Star Wars!
It gives you the chance to take on familiar villains from the Star Wars realm in lightsaber battles, train your mind with Holochess, and even test your skills in strategic combat!
I stepped into a lightsaber battle with Darth Maul and was victorious! It was also a great workout!
Star Wars: The Last Jedi Inspired Products
I also got a look at photos from the set of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, previewed the Disneyland Star Wars Land that will be opening in 2019, taste-tested Ample Hills Ice Cream flavors that were inspired by Star Wars Episode VIII, hung out in the Movies Anywhere lounge, and learned more about Littlebits Droid Inventor Kits!
With the Littlebits Droid Inventor Kits, you and the kids can design your own droid! Weston would love it!

I love that there are so many ways to bring The Last Jedi to life off the big screen. There are ways for the whole family to immerse themselves in the world of Kylo Ren, Finn, BB-8 and all of the others!
