Stocking the Pantry with Value at Safeway

When it comes to grocery shopping each week, I love finding new things on the shelves. It makes the chore of shopping feel a little less like a chore and makes stocking the pantry just a but more exciting. Hey, you do what you have to do, right? So this week I hit up our local Safeway store, Randalls, to see what new things I might be able to find for my family!

Stocking the Pantry at Safeway (Randall's)

Stocking the Pantry with Value at Safeway

Safeway is the 2nd largest, supermarket chain in North America with over 1,300 stores. I can remember shopping their when I lived in Colorado. But across the country you can shop at Vons, Pavilions, CARRS, Tom Thumb or Randalls stores because they are all Safeway stores! And in all of them, you just have to look for the “new” tag to discover new items at great values!

I always have a few people on my mind when I hit the store. I have to get food for Justin that works great for quick breakfast before work and also lunch ideas for him at work! Otherwise he goes out to lunch everyday! Then I have the kids to feed during the week and I love finding new products that I can use for a quick breakfast or snack for me when we’re on the go!

Justin leaves for work early in the morning and doesn’t have time to make a big, elaborate breakfast so we depend on the convenience of breakfast sandwiches for him during the week. At Randalls I discovered new Kellogg’s Eggo Breakfast Sandwiches. They have already gotten the Dad stamp of approval from Justin. He told me he would like to just have them for breakfast and none of the other things he’s tried!

The Open Nature Salad Bowls have also met his approval. Although I will admit that I snagged the BBQ Seasoned Chicken Chopped Salad for my own lunch. Mom has to eat too and it was delicious!

    Taking Care of the Kids

Weston goes to preschool two days a week and isn’t home for lunch but the other three days I have to make sure I have something that will interest him. Otherwise he just won’t eat. Carrigan hasn’t reached the picky toddler stage yet (and I’m hoping she skips it) so she’s pretty easy but Weston is the challenge.

Luckily I found the new KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese Star Wars Shapes at Randalls and Weston was thrilled to grab one of each box. Even though I tried to explain to him that one would be enough because the shapes in each box were the same. Luckily Safeway stores had them on sale so I was able to stock up and save at the same time. Oh, and make my son happy. It was a win-win!

May the fork be with you!

    Taking Care of Mom

On busy days, I have a tendency to forget about myself so when I go shopping, I like to find things that I can take on the go with us. This is often granola bars or protein drinks. When I found the new Core Power Protein Shake, I knew it would be great for grabbing as I head out the door.

It’s been great for an easy breakfast as we headed out the door to gym class and to preschool drop off. Plus it’s pure protein from real milk and was on sale at Randalls! So it was a great way to stock the pantry for myself and save at the same time!

I love that my local Randalls consistently offers a wide variety of the newest products at a great value. It helps mix up my weekly shopping trip just a bit!

How do you make your grocery shopping trip a bit more interesting?

I saw a commercial for those eggo sandwiches yesterday. They look good.
