Want an easy twist on basic pancakes for your family? Make this basic strawberry pancake recipe!

During the week I depend on easy breakfast ideas, but on the weekends, we usually have more time which means we can get in the kitchen a bit more! My kids love pancakes which means that I make my fair share of them!

For this strawberry pancake recipe, I’ve included two ways to whip them up. You can use flour, baking powder, and other ingredients or you can work with a pancake mix. Either way works and gives you tasty and easy to make pancakes!

Strawberry Pancake Recipe - This easy recipe can be made with mix if you need it to be quick. It's fun for kids and can also be whipped up with a variety of different berries and even banana! If you want a great sit down breakfast with your family, make these pancakes and our tasty Strawberry syrup recipe!

    Strawberry Pancake Recipe

Breakfast foods are popular in our house, even with our super picky eater. Waffles and pancakes always make a solid showing.

If you have a picky eater like I do, have no fear! The great thing about this recipe is that you can mix it up and leave out the strawberry ingredients. Set some aside in a separate bowl then add all of your strawberries.

It’s easy to separate our some pancake batter in case you have a child who won’t go for this strawberry pancake recipe. That makes it great if you want more interesting flavor but still want to make the kids happy!

I’ve also included a tasty homemade Strawberry Pancake Syrup recipe after the pancake recipe of you’d like to add another pop of flavor!

Mix the wet ingredients together in a bowl.

How to Make Easy Strawberry Pancakes

Step 1. Mix the wet ingredients (milk, egg, strawberry extract, and melted butter) together in a large bowl and set aside.

Step 2. In another bowl mix the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt) together.

With batter prepared, you're ready to cook strawberry pancakes.

Step 3. Add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients bowl a bit at a time, whisking them together as you go. Whisk until you have a smooth batter.

Step 4. Melt a 1/2 teaspoon of butter in a large frying pan or skillet over medium heat. (You can also use non-stick cooking spray.)

Step 5. Turn heat down to medium-low and pour 1/4 cup of pancake batter into the pan. Allow the batter to spread out a bit.

    Add strawberry slices to pancakes.

Step 6. Once the bottom of the pancake is cooked (you’ll see tons of little bubbles on the pancake), lay 3-4 strawberry slices on top of the batter. Then add sprinkles to the batter around the strawberries.

Step 7. Flip the pancake and allow to cook for just a short time. Don’t keep it on the heat too long!

Add sprinkles and flip the pancake.

Step 8. Serve hot with butter and your favorite syrup! (I highly recommend the easy recipe for Strawberry Syrup that I included below!)

If you need to make some batter without strawberries, it’s easy to do. Just leave out the strawberry extract in step 1. Then add it to the mixture in step 3 after you’ve set some of the plain batter aside. You can mix it right in later and the pancakes will still turn out delicious!
