Summer is here and we’re all excited! We’ve already taken our first vacation and have more travel planned! My kids go to a school that runs on a version of a year-round calendar so they will be heading back to school before a lot of their friends. But we still have over eight weeks of summer to enjoy!

SUMMER LEARNING AT HOME
SUMMER LEARNING MADE EASY
Having about two months more of summer means we have to balance some summer learning with our fun though. As a former elementary school teacher, I know how important it is to keep kids learning so they retain everything they learned during the school year. This year summer learning is easy for us with help from Carson Dellosa Summer Bridge Activities workbooks!
The great thing about summer learning is that it doesn’t have to be challenging or even take up too much time. There’s plenty of time to read and practice some skills before spending the rest of the summer traveling, filling water balloons, hitting the pool, and eating as many ice pops as possible!
We keep up with reading each day but I’m always on the hunt for activities that will help Weston in his other subjects as well. He loves math and always seems to be finding ways to practice his math skills. But other subjects like writing and social studies aren’t always as easy for me to fit into the summer.
Weston is going into 3rd grade in the fall and I love that the Summer Bridge Activities workbook for 2nd to 3rd grade focuses on all of the subjects he worked on throughout 2nd grade!
HOW TO MAKE SUMMER LEARNING EASY
The easiest way I’ve found to make summer learning easy is to add it into the daily routine. For us, this works best in the morning and in the evening. We’ve always read before going to bed and that’s a routine that we keep in place all year round. We even do it when we’re traveling!
Adding the Carson Dellosa Summer Bridge Activities to our morning routine has been a simple way to encourage learning during the summer.
All it takes is 15 minutes each morning, no matter where we are! Whether we’re at home or staying at a hotel, after breakfast we take 15 minutes to work in the Carson Dellosa Education Summer Bridge workbook! (If we have to, we’ll slip it in after lunch! It’s all about being flexible too!)
It keeps a little bit of structure in our days that I hope will also make the transition back to school just a little bit easier at the end of the summer.
Carson Dellosa is a brand I have depended on and trusted as a teacher. Carson Dellosa Education is the top resource for continuing education for kids once they’re outside the classroom!
