“If you keep on believing the dreams that you wish will come true.” – Cinderella
The place I call “my home away from home” is where I go to work every day – Bowen, Miclette & Britt. The people who work alongside me are all special; they are a mix of caring and loving individuals who always want to reach out to help others through a variety of causes. Every November we team up and create Thanksgiving Baskets.
These baskets, filled with all the fixings for a feast, help fulfill the wishes of families in our surrounding community. We believe in making their wishes come true. And UPS #WishesDelivered wants us to share our story with you.
UPS Wishes Delivered
Our wish is to make Thanksgiving into a special memory for the children, and their families, in several of the elementary schools in our area. We have been making these memories happen for the past 17 years.
This year we collected enough money from all the employees to make 141 baskets! We buy the food in bulk from a local grocery store and then include a gift card for the turkey and a pumpkin pie.
Everyone pitches in to haul all the food into the office and then we form an assembly line to put all the food in the bags. We get it all done quickly and with lots of laughter. We not only serve the outside community, but we serve our own little work community.
This is how we deliver wishes.
UPS wants this holiday season to shine with the light of giving selflessly for all of us. If you have a wish for good in the world, or if you know of a person or organization who makes wishes come true for others, please go to the UPS #WishesDelivered Site to share your story.
Be sure to check out the video about Mr. Brown to answer, What’s your wish? It was so amazing and made me say kudos to UPS!
And for every story or wish you share UPS will donate $1 to one of the following charities (up to $150K):
- Boys & Girls Club of America
- World Food Programme
- Toys for Tots Literary Program
- The Salvation Army
- The UN Refugee Agency
You can also share your story or a wish on Twitter or Instagram using the @UPS #WishesDelivered hashtag. UPS wants to celebrate all the people who make a difference. My personal tweet was:
[email protected] I wish for no more hunger on Earth! #WishesDelivered.
I got an email back from UPS acknowledging my tweet and confirming the donation! Wishes for the greater good of our planet can change our world. Share your wishes with the world and help be a part of the change.
