Yesterday I shared my love for all things sparkle during the holiday season with the Glitter Ornament and today I’m sharing my love for something else. All things small! I’ve noticed that around this time of year the craft store suddenly has tons and tons of miniatures and I always want to use them to make something. So today’s idea in the 12 Days of DIY Christmas Ornaments uses a miniature to create another thing I love — a fairy garden!
12 Days of DIY Christmas Ornaments: Fairy Garden Ornament
For C’s firs birthday we had a fairy theme so I’ve been all about the fairies recently. I have an amazing fairy garden in our backyard so it was only fitting to make one inside an ornament! I think this homemade ornament would look adorable on a tree that is decorated with more rustic themed ornaments. I have seen a bunch in the stores this year and it would be an adorable tree!
What you need:
- Clear ornament
- Craft moss
- Mini mushroom
- Scissors
- Ribbon for hanging
What you do:
- Press the craft moss into a clump and insert into the ornament.
- Add the mushroom. You can place a dab of glue on it if you wish and use a pencil to press it into place.
- Replace the hook and tie with ribbon for hanging.
Who in your life would like a fairy garden ornament?
