Did you check out yesterday’s ornament idea in the 12 Days of DIY Christmas Ornaments? I love the Tinsel Ornament because I love all things shiny this time of year. Plus it’s so easy to find all sorts of tinsel when I’m out shopping. Another thing I see a lot of this time of year are paper straws. I love them, I’ll admit it. But I don’t always know what to do with them. Now I have a reason to buy them and make this Paper Straw Ornament!

12 Days of DIY Christmas Ornaments: Paper Straw Ornament

All you need to make this next easy ornament idea is your clear glass or plastic ornament and some of the adorable paper straws I have seen everywhere this year. They seem to come in all sorts of colors and designs. The combinations are endless! I even saw some silver and gold straws the other day! So pretty!

    What you need:

    • Clear ornament
    • Assorted paper straws
    • Scissors
    • Ribbon for hanging

    What you do:

    1.  Cut paper straws into various lengths and sizes.
    2. Push the straw into the ornaments. Shake well.
    3. Replace the hook and tie with ribbon for hanging.

I love this classic combination of the red and green straws with different prints like stripes, chevron, and polka dots. I think it would be fun to make some all red and some all green too!

What color paper straws would you use in your ornaments?
