CHEESY RANCH POTATOES
Crockpot ranch potatoes are packed full of the flavors that everyone seems to love — bacon, ranch, and cheese. What’s not to like about potatoes smothered in these delicious toppings?
While you can make ranch potatoes in the oven, I like making slow cooker ranch potatoes because of the dump and leave it aspect. When it comes to side dishes, especially if you’re preparing food for a larger group, the Crockpot is a huge help. With this ranch potatoes recipe, you can put everything into the slow cooker and let it cook while you take care of other things.
Cheesy bacon ranch potatoes are great during colder months because they’re so hearty and comforting. But this ranch potatoes recipe is also great in the summer! You can allow the potatoes to cool and use them as a tasty side dish with your favorite food off the grill!

HOW TO MAKE CHEESY RANCH POTATOES
To make slow cooker ranch potatoes you need the following ingredients:
- Red potatoes
- Ranch dressing
- Sour cream
- Cheddar cheese
- Bacon or real bacon bits
- Salt
- Pepper
- Paprika

CHEESY BACON POTATOES RECIPE
It takes about 10 minutes to prep these potatoes and then you’ll be able to work on other parts of your mean or spend more time with your family!
Start by spraying the inside of the crock of your slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
If you haven’t cut your potatoes, cut them into ½ inch pieces. Then place them in the slow cooker.
Season the potatoes with salt, pepper, and paprika.
Whisk the ranch dressing and sour cream together in a small bowl then pour over potatoes.
Top with shredded cheese and mix until the potatoes are well-coated.
Put the lid on the Crockpot and cook on LOW for five hours or on HIGH for three hours.
Once the potatoes are tender, top with cooked and chopped bacon before serving. You can also use real bacon bits to top the potatoes if you prefer.
You can serve this potato side dish warm or allow it to cool and enjoy it too! It’s great with chicken and steak. We’ve also had it with meatloaf and hamburger patties. I love how easy it is to make and how versatile it is!
Crockpot Cheesy Ranch Potatoes
Ingredients
- 2 lbs red potatoes (cut into ½ inch pieces)
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
- 1 cup ranch dressing
- ¼ cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 slices bacon (cooked and chopped)
Instructions
- Spray the inside of the slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
- Place cubed potatoes in the bowl of the slow cooker and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- In a small bowl, combine the ranch dressing and sour cream. Whisk the ingredients together until smooth and pour over the top of the potatoes.
- Layer with shredded cheese and then stir until potatoes are well coated.
- Cook the potatoes on LOW for 4-5 or on HIGH for 3 hours (until the potatoes are tender).
- Top with chopped bacon before serving.
