Whether it’s Easter or you’re just looking for a quick and easy way to boil eggs, learn how to make Hard Boiled Eggs in Air Fryer and you’ll have perfect eggs in minutes!

After years of waiting for the water to boil and hoping I got it right, I’ve tried a lot of different ways to hard boil eggs. I’ve tried them in the oven and in my Instant Pot, but air fryer hard-boiled eggs are my favorite combination of convenience and delicious! They’re just so easy to make!

Scroll down to the bottom of the post for a printable recipe card or read on for my tips and tricks on the easiest way to make boiled eggs!

    Air Fryer Hard Boiled Eggs

HARD BOILED EGGS IN AIR FRYER

As I use my air fryer more and more, I find myself sharing about it with my friends all the time. One question that I get a lot is…

CAN YOU BOIL EGGS IN THE AIR FRYER?

To be honest, until recently I hadn’t thought about how to boil eggs in an air fryer. I was content making Instant Pot Hard Boiled Eggs or microwaving boiled eggs. But when my friends want to know, I have to find out.

So, YES! The answer is that you can definitely boil eggs in the air fryer.

Obviously you’re not actually boiling the eggs, but you get hard-boiled eggs in ten minutes that are absolutely perfect!

If you don’t own an air fryer yet, you need to get one!

The one we own is similar to this Air Fryer with basket. But I’m looking forward to our new Compact Air Fryer for cooking small batches of things! I’ll let you know what I think once I use it a few times!

ARE AIR FRYER HARD BOILED EGGS EASY TO PEEL

The simple answer is yes. But I have to tell you that I think that using the air fryer makes some of the easiest to peel eggs ever!

HOW LONG TO COOK A DOZEN EGGS IN AIR FRYER

Because of the size of my air fryer, I only cook half a dozen eggs at a time. I cook 6 eggs for 10 minutes and then put them in an ice bath to cool. So it takes about 20 minutes for me to make a dozen eggs in the air fryer.

If you have a larger capacity air fryer, you could cook 8-12 eggs at a time using a bit more cook time. I recommend about 15 minutes.

    AIR FRYER SOFT BOILED EGGS

If you want to make soft boiled eggs in the air fryer, just reduce the cooking time to 10 minutes. For medium-boiled cooking for 12-13 minutes.

HOW TO MAKE HARD BOILED EGGS IN AIR FRYER

To make these air fry boiled eggs you’ll need 6 eggs and a bowl of ice water. That’s really all you need and shows just how easy these eggs are to make!

You’ll need about 25 minutes total to make and cool your eggs before they’re ready to eat! (Or decorate, if it’s that time of year!)

    Bowl of ice water

Place your eggs in the basket of your air fryer.

Cook the eggs for 15 minutes at 270ยฐF.

Remove the eggs from the air fryer and place them in the bowl of ice and water to cool them down.

Allow the eggs to cool for at least 15 minutes before peeling and eating (or decorating)!

Hello there!! Should I put them in a cold air fryer not preheated or wait? I know some recipes require putting the food in while it is heating up. Thanks!! :)

So I put them in cold because my air fryer model doesn’t do a preheat at all.

I tried in my airfryer and they were soft boiled. I am putting them back for another 15 minutes to see what happens. I’ll report back. If if doesn’t work, it’ll be an expensive lesson, based on the price of eggs today.

My eggs werenโ€™t done, either. Yolk was still very soft. Iโ€™ll try again playing around with temperatures and times.

In love with this process. Best hard boiled eggs ever. If the only thing I ever use my air fryer for is this recipe, I’d be very satisfied.

The authorโ€™s comments show 10 minutes for soft boiled. The recipe itself shows 10 minutes at the top, but 15 minutes in the body. I havenโ€™t used these particular instructions but did use similar ones recently and was thoroughly impressed with the results. No need to bring eggs to room temperature or to preheat. There were no cracked shells during the process, and no issues peeling eggs after cooling them down. I tested first for time results with just one egg to be sure it would be done to my liking.

It didn’t work in my airfryer, Emerill Lagasse 360 Frenchdoor. So as not to throw them out, I put them (peeled) in the microwave to use in tuna salad. Earlier I posted and indicated I’d provide an update after I cooked them another 15 minutes in the airfryer. I will stick to the pot on the stove top. Good try.
