Whether you’re just starting your cloth diaper journey or you’re looking to build your diaper stash, used cloth diapers can be a great way to save money! If you buy used cloth diapers for sale, you’ll probably find plenty of ways to spend the money you save!
You can shop from quite a few different places including retailers, swap sites, Facebook, and more. We’ve got a few favorites and you can find out why we prefer to shop cloth diaper resale from these particular places!
Sites with Used Cloth Diapers for Sale
We’ve talked about how buying used is a great way to get cheap cloth diapers! If you’re building up your newborn cloth diapers stash, it’s the way I recommend you do it!
Newborns are in the tiny diapers for such a short time, that you can usually find some great deals on gently used diapers!
I bought all of the Kissaluvs Size 0 (KL0s) in our newborn stash by shopping used cloth diapers for sale on different websites. These made up a large part of our newborn stash and arrived in wonderful condition. As long as you follow our tips for buying used cloth diapers online, you should be good to go!
Cloth Diaper Resale Online
If you’re looking for diaper brands that are more popular but don’t have the money (or don’t want to spend the money) to buy them all new, you can wait for sales. Or you can just go hunting for gently used cloth diapers!
One thing to remember is that pre-owned cloth diapers range in condition from excellent to very good to good to fair and so on. Many sites that offer gently used diaper opportunities provide information on what the specific terms mean in regards to their website. Be sure to check each site for details!
Jillian’s Drawers Gently Used Cloth Diapers for Sale
I purchased most of our used diapers at Jillian’s Drawers.
Jillian’s Drawers gently used diapers range from no sign of use to stains, however, all have been used for 4 weeks or less! Since all of the diapers have been used and washed, they will have some signs of wear.
I purchased 3 excellent condition KL0s from Jillian’s Drawers about 6 months before Weston was born as I was slowly working on building a stash without dropping a bunch of money in one purchase.
We purchased a few different gently used diapers from the website, including:
- (3) Excellent condition KL0s – I bought these about six months before Weston was both when I was slowly building up our newborn stash.
- (4) Fair condition KL0s – I bought these about two weeks after he was born because we liked them so much! Three of the four actually appeared to be in excellent condition when they arrived!
- Thirsties Duo Diaper – It also arrived in great condition and worked well for us during the newborn stage. The gussets help in the newborn poop with ease!
- BumGenius AIO (All-In-One) in XS – I also purchased a brand new one and the used one appeared to be almost brand new when it arrived!
If you’re looking to buy gently used, I would highly recommend Jillian’s Drawers as they offer a wonderful selection and I have always had a good experience buying from them.
Diaper Junction Cloth Diaper Resale
I have made purchases from Diaper Junction in the past and they have always gone smoothly. I have not purchased any diapers used from Diaper Junction so I cannot attest to their quality, but they do offer a nice selection of gently used items.
The Diaper Junction gently used diapers have been used for approximately 3 weeks in their Money Back Guarantee program. They guarantee you will be satisfied with your gently used diaper purchase. If you are not, you may return them within 7 days of receipt.
Diaper Swappers Cloth Diaper Message Boards
If you’re a little more daring and willing to do a little more work to iron out a transaction, there are websites like Diaper Swappers that use message boards to post items that are for sale or trade.
I do read the Diaper Swappers message boards and have started negotiations for diapers a few times, but my transactions have never worked out so I have never made a purchase from anyone on Diaper Swappers.
I have read many mixed reviews of experiences on Diaper Swappers. I am not endorsing the site and I suggest that you purchase from where you are comfortable. I think with a little common sense and a little research into various sellers on Diaper Swappers, you can have a very successful experience.
Gently Used Cloth Diapers for Sale at Spot’s Corner
I did purchase used diapers directly from an individual seller via Spot’s Corner on Hyena Cart. A variety of used children’s items are available, but there is a section for cloth diapers.
I purchased some extra cloth diaper inserts before Weston was born and they were shipped promptly in the condition advertised in the listing.
I did have one purchase canceled by the seller because I didn’t pay quick enough. She canceled the order less than 6 hours after I made the purchase. I thought I would have a bit more time! But it was just a lesson in dealing with individual sellers!
No matter how you shop for used cloth diapers for sale, just be sure to read the product descriptions carefully and trust your gut!

My kids are out of diapers, but I am big fan of buying used clothing and toys for them. They are boys who grow like weeds and destroy everything they wear right now.
The used diapers is such a great idea and money saver.

Bibi, I wish I would get out to garage sales more often and buy more used clothes. I get sucked in by new clothes and he grows out of them so fast! I really only buy new on sale, at least!

Great info! I’ve never heard of a few of these places, I’ll be checking them out! We never tried the kissaluvs for newborns… Maybe I’ll get some next time around! :)
Mariah says
April, some love Kissaluvs and some don’t, but I suppose it’s that way with any diaper. Even J liked the Kissaluvs (though he did put one on backwards once! Shhh… don’t tell him!)

i check out those places all the time! haha but i rarely get the courage to buy used – All About Baby Boutique is the only store I’ve bought from because I’m really comfortable with Priscilla and the info she gave me – although she might not have been honest because I don’t think the inserts I got had even BEEN used! ;) I did one buy on fluff swappers and I got lucky – they were in amazing condition and shipped fast, but I did the transaction with a woman whose name I know from around the CD community. i’ve also sold on fluff swappers (but i trust me, so.. ;)) it’s good info to have, thanks!
Mariah says
Kari, I can completely understand your hesitation and that is one reason I like to buy used from Jillian’s Drawers! I definitely feel comfortable with it! I like places that offer to let you return within 7 days.

Thank you SO much for posting this! I’ve been looking for places to buy used and didn’t know where to start. I knew about Jillian’s Drawers and Diaper Junction but didn’t know about the others. I’m trying to find a few used GrovVia inserts to try out and will search the other sites you listed. Thanks again!!
Mariah says
Do you have GroVia shells already, Felicia? I love mine! Darcy at Tales from the Nursery has a GroVia package giveaway open as part of Summer Fluffin’!
Felicia R says
I don’t have any yet but I literally *just* purchased a summer pack from Diaper Junction tonight. I’m going to enter the drawing to see if I can win (that will probably be one that I end up winning since I already purchased it, lol). I can’t find any used shells but I did buy a 2 pack from Amazon with gift cards from swagbucks.
Felicia R says
* can’t find any used liners, sorry.. it’s been a long day!

It is funny— I am completely comfortable buying used clothing— but not underwear and in turn diapers. It is a stigma, and a silly one, but it completely grosses me out!
Mariah says
I’ve heard this from some others before and I wouldn’t buy myself used underwear, but the diaper thing doesn’t weird me out as long as they are in good condition. I have seen people selling things that weren’t in great condition and that gets me a little.

This is great information. We just started CDing with our 3 month old. My friend tipped me off to diapperswappers and I was able to get some used covers for a really good price. I also bought a few covers and prefolds from a craigslist add. We basically started CDing to save money, so it made sense to buy used. I try to buy as much as I can second hand. I love the idea of recycling things like clothes, books, and toys.

I was thinking about adding used to my store, too. I buy and sell used diapers all the time. There’s a swap group on http://www.babycenter.com that people use a lot, but I prefer the swap groups on Facebook. They move fast and the pictures are right there. You can always contact the seller for more pictures and information and you can do some bargaining to get a price that suits both parties.
Here are three that you can search for if you’re interested.

I’m all about buying used diapers. At first the concept struck me as odd, because I mean… diapers having a resell value? Really? But it’s not any weirder to me than buying anything else that’s used (as long as it’s in good shape and not super stained or anything because stains still weird me out a little).
Laura says
I really like the idea of saving money by buying used. I keep an eye on craigslist.
Kristen Bobbitt says
Thanks for listing the ‘used’ websites. I bought many diapers used for my son. There is a woman who makes & sells cloth diapers in my area and she has a little 2nd hand clothes store also. I bought 5-6 from her. Some worked out, others didn’t. I bought a couple covers off of Diaper Swappers (2 for $12). I didn’t have any problems with Diaper Swappers but it is quite daunting to look through all of the website for a specific diaper. I like the fact that there is a forum at the bottom of the website just for Canadians, it takes the guess work out of buying from an American and then having to pay huge shipping rates.

I have bought used diapers off of kijiji quite a few times. I really like this because you pick up the diapers in person and therefore you can’t be scammed. My best find so far have been Bumgenius elemental diapers used once, selling for $10 each!
