Green paint chips (available at any Home Depot, Lowes, or other locally-owned hardware store)
Glue stick (or hot glue gun)
Wine corks
Small paring knife
Multi-colored buttons
Instructions
Cut the green paint chips into triangles.
If you want your trees to have trunks, use the paring knife to gently saw a small slit into the top of the wine cork and slide the tree into place.
Cut cork on the bottom of a green triangle to make a tree shape
Glue buttons on the “tree” using the glue stick.
You can also use a low-temperature glue gun but make sure there is adult supervision if you choose to use one.
Glue a yellow ‘star’ button on top of the tree. (If your child insists on the star looking like a star, you can also cut one out of construction paper. Or color white paper yellow and cut one out. Yes, I learned this trick from experience.)
