Preheat the oven to 350°F degrees and line an 8x8 baking dish with parchment paper.
Whisk together the brown sugar, white, sugar, and butter until smooth.
Add the egg and vanilla and whisk until combined.
Add the flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt. Stir until just mixed.
Gently fold in the apple pieces.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth out the top.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 10 minutes and then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Cut into squares and drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
