HOW TO AIR FRY GREEN BEANS

This recipe makes a delicious dish of garlic roasted green beans in no time at all.

To make this recipe you will need a few basic ingredients, including:

    • Fresh green beans, trimmed
    • Olive oil
    • Garlic powder
    • Salt
    • Black pepper

You’ll also need an air fryer. You can use any model you like and the recipe should be very similar. You may need to adjust cooking times based on your air fryer.

HOW TO COOK AIR FRYER GREEN BEANS

This delicious side dish is one of the easiest you will ever make. To get started, be sure you have washed and trimmed the fresh green beans. Scroll down for tips on how to trim green beans.

Then combine all of the ingredients (oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper) in a large mixing bowl.

Toss the green beans until they are well coated with the oil mixture.

Green beans in air fryer basket

Spread the green beans in a single layer in the air fryer basket.

Preheat the fryer, if required by the model you are using. Then cook the green beans at 400° for 10 minutes.

Halfway through the cooking time, pull out the basket and toss the beans. Then continue cooking until green beans are cooked through.

    HOW TO TRIM GREEN BEANS

Start by lining up the green beans in a row. Then chop off the ends. You can also use kitchen scissors to trim off the ends of each one. I recommend trimming the ends in groups using a knife and laying them out on a cutting board to cut a large number at once.

Then wash the green beans in cold water. Put them in a bowl and add the water and some sea salt (I like to use Pink Himalayan Sea Salt). Let them soak in the water for about 15 minutes and then rinse them in cold water and pat dry.

HOW LONG TO AIR FRY GREEN BEANS

Cooking time will depend on your air fryer model. In general, I find the beans are cooked thoroughly after about 8 to 10 minutes. You can start at 8 minutes and add an additional 2-3 minutes based on your machine.

Just be sure to cook them in a single layer so the hot air can circulate around them.

    GREEN BEAN SEASONINGS

For variations on the flavors, you can use the same recipe with different seasonings!

Instead of garlic powder, try using:

    • Parmesan cheese
    • Garlic salt (I would leave out the salt in this recipe so you don’t end up with too much)
    • Red pepper flakes
    • Italian seasoning
    • Ranch dressing mix
    • Bread crumbs

It’s one easy recipe that can be tweaked for any weeknight dinner!

CAN AIR FRIED GREEN BEANS BE FROZEN?

Absolutely! Once cooked, you can store the beans in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. I recommend using the air fryer to reheat them!

You can also freeze them and store them in the freezer for up to 6 months.

CAN YOU AIR FRY FROZEN VEGETABLES?

You can use the air fryer to cook frozen vegetables, including frozen green beans. I recommend cooking the frozen green beans for a few minutes in the air fryer to thaw them out.

Then coat them with the oil and seasonings and return them to the air fryer basket. Cook for 8-10 minutes.

If you decide to oil and season them before cooking, you may need to add 5-10 more minutes to your cooking time.

Air Fryer Frozen Green Beans are a great option if you just happen to have frozen green beans on hand and don’t have time to pick up fresh ones!

WHAT TO SERVE WITH AIR FRIED GREEN BEANS

This classic side dish pairs well with almost anything! It’s a great option for traditional holiday meals like Thanksgiving and Christmas.

But it goes great with steak, fish, chicken, and meatloaf! You can learn how to make Air Fryer Meatloaf, Air Fryer Chicken Legs, and Air Fryer Sirloin Steak and make your whole meal in your fryer!

It really is the perfect side dish!
