Air fryer potatoes are a great side dish option. They pair well with so many main dishes and are easy to prep! There’s also just something so comforting about cutting open a crispy baked potato and adding all of my favorite toppings to it.
I love my air fryer and the convenience it offers. I think it’s the best way to bake a potato. You don’t need foil or to do anything too special to get a delicious potato that’s ready to be used as a side dish or even a main course option!
CAN YOU PUT ALUMINUM FOIL IN THE AIR FRYER?
As long as you use aluminum foil correctly, you can use it in the air fryer. It all depends on the food you’re making. You need to make sure that the food wrapped in foil doesn’t block the air from circulating around the food because that’s how the air fryer cooks the food!
Honestly, I avoid using foil in the air fryer because most of the food I may doesn’t need it! We might be used to wrapping baked potatoes in foil before putting them in the oven or on the grill. But with this air fryer baked potato recipe, I promise you do NOT need foil!
HOW LONG TO COOK A BAKED POTATO
Cook time for a baked potato depends on your cooking method. For the baked potatoes in the air fryer, I find that with my model, 45 minutes is a good amount of time to get a potato that is fully cooked and has a delicious crispy skin.
If you’re baking potatoes in the oven it usually takes me about 60 minutes at 400°F to bake average sized potatoes. I find myself turning them 2-3 times during the cooking time to make sure they get evenly baked.
When I make baked potatoes in the air fryer, I typically only turn them one.
WHAT TEMPERATURE SHOULD A BAKED POTATO BE COOKED AT?
Whether I’m baking my potatoes in the air fryer or in the oven, I baked them at 400°F.
