Why You’ll Love This Recipe

- Simple Ingredients – This recipe only needs a few basic ingredients. Outside of the corn on the cob, you’ll probably have everything you need in the kitchen already!
- Versatility – Whether you’re looking for a BBQ side dish or just a delicious corn dish to serve with dinner tonight, this recipe works well for a wide range of meals. It can also rescue you on a rainy day when you were planning to grill up everything for dinner!

Can You Put Corn in the Air Fryer?
So now that you know you can put corn on the cob in the air fryer, you might be wondering why you’d choose to air fry it. For me, it’s mostly about convenience (and maybe also that I’m hooked on my air fryer).
You can make air fried corn on the cob in less time than you can boil it or oven roast it.
For this recipe, I find it best to do 4-6 halves of corn or 4-6 smaller ears of corn. This is just what works best for our air fryer. It also works well for serving as a simple corn side dish with pretty much any meal. You can adjust it based on the size of your air fryer.
You will need to remove the husks and silks from your ears of corn before putting them in the air fryer.
This has led people to ask me about using frozen corn in the air fryer.
Can you air fry frozen corn on the cob?
You can cook frozen corn on the cob in the air fryer! You follow the same instructions for using fresh corn.
It’s really that easy!
How long does it take to boil corn?
I’ve been asked if air frying corn on the cob actually saves time. In my experience, it does. It always takes my boiled corn on the cob around 7-10 minutes to cook. Add the time it takes to get the water to boil and I feel like the air fryer is a quicker way to cook corn on the cob.
I would love to hear about your experiences with both cooking methods.
Air Fryer Corn on the Cob in Foil
I’ve read that you can use aluminum foil in the air fryer if you do it correctly. Personally, I do not use it.
You don’t need it to make this corn on the cob anyway. It would just be adding an additional step that you don’t need!
I promise that this recipe is so simple even if it’s not the way you usually cook your corn on the cob!
How to Air Fry Corn on the Cob
Serves: 4
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 10-15 minutes
Ingredients
To make this recipe you’ll need:
- Ears of corn
- Olive oil
- Butter
- Salt & pepper
Full measurements can be found in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.
Equipment
You’ll also need a few other items from your kitchen, including:
- Air Fryer
- Chef’s knife (if you need to cut your ears of corn)
- Cutting board
- Silicone basting/pastry brush
- Small bowl
To get started, you will need to remove the husks and silks from the ears of corn. My trick for doing this is to put the ears in the microwave for 3-4 minutes. Then chop the stalk end off the ear of corn. You want to cut it about an inch or so into where the corn will be. Push the corn cob from the other (non-cut) end and it should slide right out! It’s a simple way to get clean corn!
Then you’ll cut each ear in half and brush oil on each one.
Season them corn on the cob with salt and pepper. Then put them into the air fryer basket. Be sure to leave space around each one so the air can circulate.
How long you do you air fry corn on the cob?
Cook at 375°F for 6-8 minutes and then flip. Cook for an additional 6-7 minutes or until the corn is tender.
Remove the corn from the air fryer basket and top with butter.
Enjoy with your favorite meal!

Tips & Tricks
For the best air fryer corn on the cob, there are a few things to remember:
- All air fryers are different. It’s important to keep an eye on the corn while it is cooking. Depending on the size (and even shape) of your air fryer, it may take more or less cooking time. Check the corn halfway through the cooking time so that you don’t burn it.
- Leave space around each piece of corn. It is important to leave space around food in the air fryer basket so the hot air can circulate. So do not stack or pack the corn cobs in tight.
- Adjust corn size if needed. Don’t be afraid to cut your ears of corn if they’re too big for your air fryer basket. It is okay to use half eats and also to air fry in batches. That’s what makes this recipe work, no matter what size air fryer you own.
- Using oil in the air fryer. You don’t need much oil to help the corn crisp up. I highly recommend using a silicone basting/pastry brush to brush a bit of oil on the corn.
