Can you tell that I’m a fan of this easy recipe?
CAN YOU PUT CORN IN AN AIR FRYER?
So now that you know you can put corn on the cob in the air fryer, you might be wondering why you’d choose to air fry it. For me, it’s about convenience (and maybe also that I’m hooked on my air fryer).
You can make air fried corn on the cob in less time than you can boil it or oven roast it. You can probably do it more quickly than grilling it, but I’m not the grill master in our house so I’m no expert on that.
Using our air fryer corn on the cob recipe, you can have well-cooked corn with plenty of flavor in about 15 minutes. It might take even less time, depending on your Air Fryer model!
If you’re looking for more of my favorite corn side dishes, I make a lot of this easy sweet corn salad and this creamy corn salad.
For this recipe, I find it best to do 4-6 halves of corn or 4-6 smaller ears of corn. This is just what works best for our air fryer. It also works well for serving as a simple corn side dish with pretty much any meal.
You will need to remove the husks and silks from your ears of corn before putting them in the air fryer.
This has led people to ask me about using frozen corn in the air fryer.
CAN YOU COOK FROZEN CORN ON THE COB IN AN AIR FRYER
You can cook frozen corn on the cob in the air fryer! You follow the same instructions for using fresh corn.
It’s really that easy!
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BOIL CORN?
I’ve been asked if air frying corn on the cob actually saves time. In my experience, it does. It always takes my boiled corn on the cob around 7-10 minutes to cook. Add the time it takes to get the water to boil and I feel like the air fryer is a quicker way to cook corn on the cob.
I would love to hear about your experiences with both cooking methods.
AIR FRYER CORN ON THE COB IN FOIL
I’ve read that you can use aluminum foil in the air fryer if you do it correctly. Personally, I do not use it.
You don’t need it to make this corn on the cob anyway. It would just be adding an additional step that you don’t need!
I promise that this recipe is so simple even if it’s not the way you usually cook your corn on the cob!
AIR FRYER CORN ON THE COB RECIPE
Serves: 4
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 10-15 minutes
To make this recipe you’ll need corn, olive oil, butter, salt, and pepper. That’s how simple this corn is to make! Basic ingredients that give you great taste!
To get started, you will need to remove the husks and silks from the ears of corn. My trick for doing this is to put the ears in the microwave for 3-4 minutes. Then chop the stalk end off the ear of corn. You want to cut it about an inch or so into where the corn will be. Push the corn cob from the other (non-cut) end and it should slide right out! It’s a simple way to get clean corn!
Then you’ll cut each ear in half and brush oil on each one.
Season them corn on the cob with salt and pepper. Then put them into the air fryer basket. Be sure to leave space around each one so the air can circulate.
Cook at 375°F for 6-8 minutes and then flip. Cook for an additional 6-7 minutes or until the corn is tender.
Remove the corn from the air fryer basket and top with butter.
Enjoy with your favorite meal!
