Whether you need a quick dinner or lunch idea or a tasty snack or appetizer, air fryer pigs in a blanket are a great option. These are easy enough for the kids to help make (help younger ones with the hot air fryer basket) and are also great for game day snacks.

Iโ€™ve generally used pigs in a blanket as an easy lunch idea, but you can pair them with side dishes to turn them into an easy dinner. You can even make side dishes in the air fryer likeย air fried macaroni and cheeseย andย air fryer tater tots.

They also go well if youโ€™re looking forย football snack ideas.

    Why Youโ€™ll Love This Recipe

    • Family friendly.ย Pigs in a blanket are a classic family friendly recipe so theyโ€™re good to have on hand when you need to whip up something easy.
    • Easy prep and clean up.ย All you have to do to prep is wrap the crescent rolls. Clean up is always easy with an air fryer. Generally all you need to do is rinse out your air frye rbasket.
    • Ready in less than 30 minutes!ย Depending on the size of your air fryer, you can have all the pigs in a blanket cooked and ready in under half an hour!

    Ingredients & Equipment

The ingredient list for this recipe is simple! All you need to buy is:

    • Crescent roll dough
    • Lil Smokies sausages

Youโ€™ll also need a few things from your kitchen, including:

    • Air fryer
    • Tongs

Crescent dough triangles on cutting board

    Step by Step Instructions

This recipe make 24 pigs in a blanket. It takes about 10 minutes prep time and 6-8 minutes of cooking per batch. You can air fry as many pigs in a blanket at a time that fit in your air fryer basket.

Step 1.ย Preheat the air fryer to 350ยฐF. If your air fryer doesnโ€™t have a preheat setting, just set it to cook for about 5 minutes.

Step 2.ย Unroll the crescent dough and separate the triangles. Cut each triangle into three strips.

Step 3.ย Wrap one strip of dough around each of the little smokies sausages.

Step 4.ย Place the pigs in a blanket in a single layer in the basket of your air fryer, making sure they arenโ€™t touching.

ย Step 5.ย Cook for 6 to 8 minutes, using tongs to flip the sausages halfway through the cook time. You want to cook them until the crescent roll is golden brown.

Step 6.ย Repeat with remaining batches of pigs in a blanket.

    Leftovers Storage & Reheating

You can store an leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Make sure they have cooled completely before you put them away to reduce the amount of moisture. That will help them get less soggy.

I recommend reheating them in the air fryer to get the best crispiness. Heat the air fryer toย 350ยฐFย and cook them for 2-3 minutes or until heated through.

    Tips & Tricks

    • Cooking times vary based on air frye rmodels. Watch your pigs in a blanket closely so they donโ€™t get overcooked. I would keep an eye on them starting at 5-6 minutes.
    • Serve pigs in a blanket with different dips to add more flavor to them! You can always serve classic ketchup and mustard but try your favorite dipping sauces too! We also like honey mustard, cheese sauce, garlic dipping sauce, and BBQ sauce!
    • If you want your piggies to be extra golden brown, you can brush them with melted butter before you air fry them.
    • You can also line your air fryer basket with parchment paper if youโ€™re worried about the crescent dough sticking.

    FAQs

Can I cook frozen pigs in a blanket in the air fryer?

You can! You will probably just need to add a few extra minutes to the cooking ย to make sure they are completely cooked.

Can I use hot dogs for this air fryer recipe?

You can use hot dogs for these pigs in a blanket. I recommend cutting your hotdog in half or into thirds depending on the size of the hot dogs you have. Then wrap them in the crescent pastry dough and follow the recipe.
