Ingredients to make fried pickle dip

    Ingredients & Equipment

This recipeโ€™s ingredient list should be very easy to find at your local grocery store. Hereโ€™s what youโ€™ll need to make this pickle dip recipe:

    • Cream cheese
    • Sour cream
    • Mayonnaise
    • Dill pickle relish
    • Garlic powder
    • Onion powder
    • Dill weed
    • Salt
    • Black pepper
    • Panko bread crumbs
    • Butter
    • Potato chips, crackers, vegetables or your favorite dippers

Full measurements for each ingredient can be found in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.

Youโ€™ll also need a few pieces of kitchen equipment:

    • Measuring cups
    • Measuring spoons
    • Mixing bowl
    • Silicone spatula
    • Microwave-safe bowl
    • Serving bowl

    Step By Step Instructions

This recipe makes 2 cups of dip (6-8 servings). It takes 10 minutes of prep time and I recommend chilling for 1 hour before adding topping and serving.

Step 1.ย In a medium mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Stir until smooth.

Step 2.ย Stir the dill pickle relish into the mixture.

Step 3.ย Then add the garlic powder, onion powder, and dill weed. Mix well.

Step 4.ย Season with salt and pepper, to taste.

Step 5.ย Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to blend.

Step 6.ย Prior to serving, melt the butter in the microwave (microwave in short increments of 20-30 seconds until melted) and combine with the panko breadcrumbs

Step 7.ย Sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the top of the dip. Garnish with additional pickles or seasonings, if desired.

Step 8.ย Serve with your choice of potato chips, crackers, veggies, or your favorite dippers.

    Serving Suggestions

You can serve this dip with your favorite dippers. Here are some ideas:

    • Potato chips
    • Crackers
    • Breadsticks
    • Baguette slices
    • Pita chips
    • Pita bread
    • Flatbreads
    • Tortilla chips
    • Crostini
    • Baby carrots
    • Cucumber slices
    • Cherry tomatoes
    • Bell peppers
    • Celery sticks

    Variations

    • Turn Up the Heatย โ€“ Add finely diced jalapenos, a pinch of cayenne pepper, or red pepper flakes for heat. Sriracha can also add some spice.
    • Herb Flavorย โ€“ Use a mix of fresh herbs like basil, parsley, and cilantro to replace or complement the dill weed.
    • Smoked Flavorย โ€“ Stir in smoked paprika and a touch of liquid smoke.
    • Extra Crunchย โ€“ Toast the panko breadcrumbs with Parmesan and sprinkle it over the top for an extra crunch and flavor.
    • Baconย โ€“ Fold in crispy bacon bits for extra savory flavor and because everything is better with bacon!
    • Pickle Loverย โ€“ Increase the amount of dill pickle relish and chop up extra pickles. You can also try this recipe with different varieties of relish and pickles.

    Substitutions

    • You can use Ranch dressing mix in place of theย garlic powder, onion powder, and dill weed for a quick and easy substitution.
    • You can also use dill pickle juice instead of dill pickle relish. Your dip might be a little thinner in texture. If you want more texture, you can add in some chopped pickles.
    • Plain greek yogurt can be used instead of the sour cream.
    • Substiture 3/4 teaspoon fresh dill for the dill weed.
    • You can also top with ingredients like fresh chives, green onions, and shredded cheese

    Leftovers & Storage

You can keep this dip or any leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days in the refrigerator. When youโ€™re ready to serve any leftover dip, stir it well.

You can also add fresh breadcrumbs when serving leftover dip.

    Tips & Tricks

    • If you let the cream cheese soften a bit at room temperature, it will be easier to mix into a smooth texture.
    • If you want crunchier breadcrumsb for that โ€œfriedโ€ flavor, toast the breadcrumbs in a small skillet with the butter until golden brown before sprinkling them on top. This takes a bit more time but really ups this dip.
    • For a thicker dip, press the pickle relish with paper towels to remove excess liquid before mixing.
    • If youโ€™re hosting a party and want to make a bigger batch of dip, this one is easy to double so itโ€™s great for entertaining!
