When I was teaching, Valentine’s Day was a great theme for all sorts of activities including Valentine art projects we made together and made as gifts!
Whether you’re looking for Valentines art projects and crafts that can be given as gifts or just some fun themed activities to do with your kids, we’ve got some easy ideas for you!
Valentine Art Projects & Craft Ideas
No matter how old your kids are, there are Valentine’s Day craft activities they can get involved in! You can make DIY valentines to give away or Valentine art to use as decor around the house.
As long as you can handle hearts, hearts, and more hearts, you’ll have a good time with your kids. And if you don’t like hearts, then you’re probably not a fan of Valentine’s Day anyway!
Easy Kids Crafts for Valentine’s Day
One of our most popular Valentine art projects we’ve done is a thumbprint vase. I love a good handprint or thumbprint craft because it’s a great way to preserve a certain moment in time when your kids were a certain size.
Our fingerprint Valentine’s day vase makes a wonderful grandparent gift too. We made one for each set of grandparents!

I love dollar stores and the dollar areas at stores for picking up Valentines art supplies. They have so many cute things on the cheap.
We made a cute “Bucket of Kisses” that can be used as home decor from items we got at the dollar store. So if you’re looking for a super affordable way to craft, pick up everything you need to make one of our favorite kid friendly valentine crafts!
More Valentine Art Home Decor Ideas
Valentine crafts often make for great holiday decor. The kids love seeing the things they helped make all around our house!
Just like the “Bucket of Kisses,” our valentine napkin rings are affordable and easy to make. They’re a great project for kids who are a bit older. You can really make them any theme that you like too, depending on what you pick up at the dollar store or the craft store!
I know some girls who love making these and I think Carrigan is old to enough to make some this year. It will be fun to set the table and use them!

Heart rocks are another favorite Valentine art project that can be used as home decor or even as gifts.
It’s a project that can be a family activity. You can all go out and find the perfect rocks then come home and turn them into heart rocks! You don’t need many materials either!

Wearable Valentines Art
I love a good Valentine’s Day shirt! I try to buy the kids a new one each year but sometimes it’s hard to find something I like! But it’s easy to make a really cute shirt!
We originally made these valentine shirts for toddlers but they can be made for anyone of any age! Your kids can even help make their own once you’re ready to let them use fabric markers!
Check out how easy it is and make your own valentine shirts this year!
DIY Valentine Card Ideas
Sometimes your kids might want to make a quick and fun card to give to you or a friend. If you have some watercolor paints and some crayons, you can let them make their own secret message valentines!
You do need some paper too, but that’s really all you need! Oh, and some scissors. And someone to use those scissors if your kids aren’t old enough.
You can get all the details here.
