Cake batter dip can easily go with a variety of variations, but this one using Funfetti cake mix is also called Dunkaroo dip. If youโ€™re old enough, you might remember the Dunkaroo snack packs that came with cookies and frosting to dip them in. This sweet dip is reminiscent of those treatsyou loved as a kid!

    Why Youโ€™ll Love This Recipe

    • Quick and Easy to Make โ€“ย This dip comes together in minutes using just a few simple ingredients. No baking or special skills needed.
    • Simple Ingredientsย โ€“ You only need cake mix, pudding, Cool Whip, and sprinkles. All of the items are easy to find at any grocery store.
    • Perfect for Any Occasion โ€“ย Funfetti cake batter dip is a crowd-pleaser for birthday parties, holidays, or any gathering. Everyone loves the colorful, festive look. Itโ€™s so quick you can also just make it for a last minute snack to enjoy at home!

    Ingredients & Equipment

This easy dessert dipโ€™s ingredient list is super simple. You only need 4 ingredients and youโ€™ll easily find them all at your grocery store. Hereโ€™s what you need to make Funfetti cake dip:

    • Funfetti cake mix
    • Vanilla pudding (use pudding cups or make your own instant pudding to use)
    • Whipped topping (Cool Whip)
    • Rainbow sprinkles

Full measurements for each ingredient can be found in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.

Youโ€™ll also need a few things from the kitchen:

    • Electric hand mixer (you can also use a stand mixer)
    • Large mixing bowl (Microwave-safe)
    • Silicone spatula
    • Measuring cups
    • Measuring spoons
    • Serving bowl

    Funfetti Dip Recipe Steps

This recipe makes 10 servings. It takes about 5 minutes of prep time and I recommend chilling for at least 1 hour before serving (though it is delicious right after you mix it too!)

Step 1. IMPORTANT:ย Before you start, put the cake mix in a large microwave-safe bowl to heat treat it. Heat it in the microwave for 30 second intervals. Stir between each heat session. It will be safe to eat once it reaches 165 degrees. This should take one to two minutes.

Step 2.ย In the large bowl, mix the cake mix and pudding together.

Step 3.ย Gently fold the whipped topping into the mixture.

Step 4.ย Put the dip in your serving bowl and cover. Then chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour or until youโ€™re ready to serve.

Step 5.ย Top with extra sprinkles and serve with pretzels, graham crackers, or your favorite dippers.

    Serving Suggestions

You can serve this dip with a variety of dippers. Here are some ideas:

    • Pretzel rods or twists
    • Vanilla wafers
    • Graham crackers
    • Chocolate graham crackers
    • Teddy grahams
    • Animal crackers
    • Oreos
    • Chocolate chip cookies
    • Biscotti
    • Cinnamon sugar pita chips
    • Rice Krispies treats
    • Cubed pound cake or angel food cake
    • Potato chips (for a sweet and salty combo!)
    • Strawberries
    • Apples

    Variations

There are different ways you can change up this dessert dip with different add-ins and toppings.

    • Chocolate Cake Mix Dip โ€“ Use chocolate cake mix and chocolate pudding (and you can even use chocolate sprinkles).
    • Celebrate the Seasons โ€“ Use themed sprinkles for holidays like Halloween, Christmas, or Valentineโ€™s Day.
    • Fruit Twist โ€“ Swap vanilla pudding for strawberry or banana pudding for a fruity twist.
    • Play with Mix-Ins โ€“ Stir in mini chocolate chips, crushed cookies, or candy pieces for extra fun.

    Leftovers & Storage

You can keep this dip or any leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. Be sure to store it covered with plastic wrap or in an airtight container.

When serving leftovers, stir the dip and top with additional sprinkles.

    Tips & Tricks

    • Be sure to heat treat the cake mix to kill any potential bacteria that might be in the raw flour used to make the mix. You donโ€™t want to use raw cake mix!
    • Be sure your whipped topping is thawed before making this recipe. Otherwise it will also be more challenging to mix.
    • When mixing the whipped topping, be sure to use a gentle folding motion to keep its light and fluffy texture.
    • You can use vanilla yogurt or vanilla Greek yogurt in place of vanilla pudding.
    • You can use a stand mixer or a hand mixer to blend the ingredients together.

    More Sweet Dips

    • Key Lime Pie Dip
    • Nutella Dip
    • Strawberry Cheesecake Dip
    • Cherry Cheesecake Dip
    • Brownie Batter Dip
    • Booty Dip
    • Hot Chocolate Dip
    • Cookie Dip
    • Mint Dip
