    Ingredients & Equipment

Mint Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Dipsโ€™s ingredient list is super simple. You only need 6 ingredients and theyโ€™re easy to find at your local grocery store.

    • Cream cheese
    • Powdered sugar
    • Mint extract
    • Green gel food coloring
    • Whipped topping (Cool Whip)
    • Mini chocolate chips
    • Chocolate graham cracker, regular graham crackers, Oreos or other dippers

Full measurements for each ingredient can be found in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.

Youโ€™ll also need a few things from the kitchen:

    • Electric hand mixer (you can also use a stand mixer)
    • Large mixing bowl
    • Silicone spatula
    • Measuring cups
    • Measuring spoons
    • Serving bowl

Ingredients to make mint chocolate chip dip

    Step By Step Instructions

This recipe makes 12 servings. It takes about 10 minutes of prep time and I recommend chilling for at least 1 hour before serving (though it is delicious right after you mix it too!)

Step 1.ย Allow the cream cheese to soften at room temperature. Thaw the whipped topping.

Step 2. In a large mixing bowl, add the cream cheese and use the electric mixer to beat until smooth.

Step 3. Add the powdered sugar, mint extract, and green gel food coloring. You want the shade of green to be darker than you want the final dip to be because the color will lighten when you add the Cool Whip whipped topping to the mixture. Mix until well combined.

Step 4. Gently fold the Cool Whip and mini chocolate chips into themixture until everything is well combined and there are no more Cool Whip streaks.

Step 5.ย  Cover and chill for 1 hour.

Step 6.ย Then put the dip in a serving bowl and serve with cookies, fruit, or your favorite dippers and enjoy!

    Variations

You can change up this recipe a bit by tweaking the mix-ins or toppings to add some extra flavor. Try some of these ideas:

    • Use crushed Oreos or mint cookies instead of chocolate chips.
    • Mix in mini marshmallows for extra texture.
    • Stir in chopped Andes mints or peppermint patties.
    • Use white chocolate chips for a twist.
    • Add a swirl of hot fudge or chocolate sauce.

What to Dip in Chocolate Chip Dessert Dip

You can dip pretty much anything in the tasty dip, but here are some suggestions from our favorites:

    • Chocolate graham crackers
    • Regular graham crackers
    • Oreo cookies
    • Chocolate chip cookies
    • Shortbread cookies
    • Vanilla wafers
    • Pretzel twists or sticks
    • Animal crackers
    • Fresh strawberries
    • Banana slices
    • Marshmallows
    • Brownie bites

    Leftovers & Storage

You can keep your Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Dip or any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.

Because this easy dip uses cream cheese, you want to make sure you donโ€™t let it sit out at room temperature for more than 2 hours. You can put it in the refrigerator to chill it again if you are serving it for longer periods of time.

    Tips & Tricks

    • Let the cream cheese sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before mixing. This will help you to get a smooth and lump-free mixture.
    • Be sure to gently fold in whipped topping with a spatula to keep the dip light and fluffy.
    • For a thicker dip, use less whipped topping. For a fluffier dip, add more.
    • You can use a stand mixer or an electric mixer to blend the ingredients together. If you donโ€™t have either, you can just use a spatula or mixing spoon. It will just take a bit more work on your part.
    • You can also use peppermint extract for this mint chocolate chip dip. If you do use peppermint, try mixing in some crushed candy canes and using some red gel food coloring to give it a pink color that has more of a peppermint vibe.
